NV BESIX SA, one of the largest Belgian construction companies operating worldwide with a global track record in the design and construction of high-rise buildings, marine and infrastructure works, and Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC), featuring in the top 10 of global contractors, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining the terms of a cooperation between both parties in the future.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of China and Charles Michel, Prime Minister of Belgium, who is on an official state visit on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belgium and China.
The first contacts between BESIX and MCC were established in June of last year, in the framework of the royal visit to China co-hosted by the Brussels-Capital Region. By signing the MOU, both parties have agreed to explore strategic cooperation in the pursuit of building, infrastructure and environmental projects in the Middle East and Africa.
In view of its growth strategy, BESIX intends to strengthen its position in the Middle East and on the African continent by engaging in strategic partnerships. By joining forces BESIX and MCC can reinforce their offering to the market as they combine a longstanding international track-record and experience in complex project management, thus uniting the best of both worlds.

BESIX emphasizes that the MOU with MCC will not affect any of the company’s relationships and cooperation programs with other partners.
